Introduction to Etching and Intaglio Printmaking (NPS)

Explore the rich world of etching and intaglio printmaking in this hands-on, intensive, 3 day workshop. Dive into the art of creating atmospheric prints with techniques such as Drypoint and Etching. Learn to manipulate textures and tonal ranges, from bright and joyous to dark and atmospheric. This course covers essential methods, including inking, wiping, and printing, to achieve stunning results. Discover additional techniques like La Poupée for color enhancement and Chine-collé for adding delicate papers. Perfect for those with some printmaking experience, this course will inspire creativity and expand your printmaking skills. Our studio uses less toxic materials for the health of the artists and the planet.
All materials included: 4’ x 6’ copper plate, paper, inks, tools and open studio Saturday evening.
