"Oil Painting from life" with Lindsay Carroll

"Oil Painting from Life" course: 

"In this course, students will try their hand at painting from life while experimenting with different subject matter. The first session will begin with a still life, and Lindsay will teach students how to "group values" to keep things simple and interesting. In the second class, students will apply what they learned to paint florals, and in the third and fourth class, students will have the opportunity to paint self portraits from the mirror."

About the Artist: 

Lindsay Carroll is an award-winning oil and pastel artist living and working in the High Country of North Carolina. She received her formal training at a young age from the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities, where she studied from 2007-2009. Her methods—which blend classical and contemporary realism— will be explored in WAC courses where students will work with oil, charcoal, and pastel. Courses may explore a variety of subject matter or may be centered upon the figure and figurative realism.

Lindsay is a wonderful artist and teacher. The class was relaxed and fun! I’m just sorry that I won’t be able to take her upcoming class in March due to a scheduling conflict.
