​Remember those rehearsal processes where everyone seemed in sync, and you felt free to try bold choices? Welcome to Intimacy and Active Analysis in Rehearsal, a workshop for anyone who wants to create a collaborative work environment for any production. 

Over 10 weeks, actors will rehearse a theoretical production of a play selected by the participants from a list provided by the instructors. Actors will choose one role to focus on throughout the class. (And yes, more than one actor can work on the same role!)

Each session will begin with a group intimacy discussion followed by intimacy and/or analysis work on the play. Actors will devise etudes to portray off-stage scenes and psychological aspects of their characters in real time and improvise etudes to test their analysis of their scenes. Actors will also receive outside reading and self-discovery homework to enhance their growth. The lessons learned here can be taken into any rehearsal process, giving actors the ability to work independently under any director.

In this workshop, you will be able to:

• Create space to be your most authentic self in every environment.
• Fast-track a rapport with your fellow artists and build a like-minded company to create earth-shattering performances.
• Make bold, creative choices using measurable tools that test them in a judgment-free environment.
• Learn intimacy practices based on psychology and rehearsal methods used at the Moscow Art Theatre.

In addition, actors will receive two private sessions with Intimacy Coach Mara Lee Gilbert. 

• Class is limited to 10 actors and runs for 10 weeks, Mondays 6-9 pm, Sept 16 - Nov 18, 2024
• Cost: $450*

*Payment Plans Available:

• Option 1 ($150 Deposit plus one payment of $300 - payable online - due by the first of class.
• Option 2 ($150 Deposit plus two payments of $150 each - payable by cash, check, or wire transfer - due the first and third class, respectively)
