Queen City Comedy

In this 5-class intensive, you learn how to develop characters from a character premise and how to host a character interview. Then we'll rehearse and record episodes of “The Character Concoction Show”. The show is fully improvised, and you will find the comedy while being interviewed in-character. The show will be professionally produced and streamed as video and produced as a podcast too delivered on many platforms!

You will learn:

• • Improvising for video and audio-only podcast delivery
  • Developing characters using interviews
  • Creating character and show premise
  • How to host character interviews (you don't have to host show episodes, but you can!)
  • Grounding wild characters, and heightening them

Tech: Classes use Zoom, and we will try to record shows using a browser-based technology. For the best experience we recommend: Desktop, lighting focused on face, a decent internet connection, and headphones. Assistance will be provided to improve your setup, and we’ll use zoom as a backup for shows, if needed.
