Beginner Crochet - Level 1
Our two-part introduction to crochet class covers a few basic stitches (chain, single crochet, back loop only, front loop only), how to make a slip knot and read a pattern. We’ll talk about the crocheted fabric in the first session, make a slip knot, chain and single crochet. The second session, covers how to problem solve errors, work single crochet stitches through the back/front loop only, how to join new yarn, weave in ends and introduce different ways to use stitch markers.
The class includes a supply kit: crochet hook, practice yarn, scissors, stitch markers, and a darning needle.
NOTE: once you’ve completed this class, and would like to continue practicing what you’ve learned, we’ve created beginner friendly kits (available in store). This is a great way to practice your stitch tension and read/follow a pattern. The kits include enough Numana Yarn to crochet a skinny scarf, crochet hook, and a printed copy of the pattern.
Skill Level: no experience required.
Materials Included: 4 mm hook, enough dk weight yarn to crochet a square, small notions kit (scissors, stitch markers and darning needle).
Homework: bring a notebook and pen if you want to take additional notes.
Please note the classroom is upstairs (14 steps).
