High Buildings
New for 2024! This one-day advanced workshop is delivered in a hybrid format allowing participants to join either in person or virtually.
The workshop focuses on the specific application of the Ontario Building Code Section 3.2.6. and Supplementary Standard SB-4. In-depth discussions will take place regarding the smoke control provisions required in new and existing buildings.
This workshop is targeted towards Part 3 plans examiners, inspectors, and designers who are or will be working with high buildings. The course includes an overview of the documents and information required from the design industry to confirm compliance with these provisions, in addition to topics such as smoke control in new, existing, and connected buildings, emergency use of elevators, venting for firefighters, alarm and communication systems, and testing of systems.
The course notes, a high buildings matrix, and review checklists will be provided to each participant in a digital format prior to the start of the course.
