Mixed Media Abstract Faces

This class is all about letting loose and abandoning realism to create fun and wild abstract faces! Anything goes! We will create a couple of projects where we explore different styles and techniques.

Students will create intuitive abstract face compositions and add elements that are meaningful or pleasing to them. Students will experiment with multiple media to create unique color combinations, textures, and patterns. We will also create a unique piece painted on top of collaged papers. 

Required Supplies List:

• 9x12 or larger Watercolor paper (for first project)
• 9x12 or larger Stretched Canvas, Canvas board, or Mixed Media paper (for second project)
• Pencil
• Kneaded Eraser
• Tracing Paper (Teacher will have extra)
• Charcoal Pencil (Teacher will have a few extras)
• Stabilo All Pencil (Black)
• Blending Nib
• Acrylic Ink and/or Watercolors
• Acrylic paint in various colors (bring what you like)
• Fine Tip Acrylic Markers (Recommend Arrtx and/or Posca) 
• White fine point gel pen or fine tip Posca
• Black Ink Fine-liner/waterproof (i.e., Micron or Copic)
• Brushes in various sizes
• Matte Medium Gel
• Workable Fixative Spray
• Acrylic Varnish (I recommend brush on Satin, Liquitex)

Teacher will supply collaging papers. There will be some acrylic craft paint, acrylic inks and generic watercolors available at the club if you need them. Colors may be limited.
