This flexible course is part of the Clinical Skills package but can also be completed as a standalone course.

The Electrocardiogram course will cover basic anatomy and physiology of the heart, along with the cardiac cycle and conductivity of the heart in order to give the background knowledge to perform and an ECG. It will demonstrate how to per­form an ECG, types of ECG’s, how to understand and interpret an ECG and recognise abnormal ECG’s.

This course can be completed in your own pace and at you own time. It also allows you the opportunity to review any aspect of the course as many times as required. It will take approximately 1.5hrs to complete the course but you will have access to the course for 4 weeks from you register.

This course will provide you with the theoretical principles that underpin the clinical skill of ECG. To be a competent practitioner in this skill you must be assessed and deemed competent by an experienced registered practitioner in the clinical settings, who is trained, practising and proficient in this skill.
