New Employee Orientation

Congratulations! Let me be the first to say you have just made one of many great decisions concerning your new career. You have joined an organization that cares so much about the well-being of its community, and even more so about its employees. This week-long training is devoted to ensuring you feel comfortable and confident in your decision to join our team.

You are our greatest asset, and we are invested in your future growth from the very beginning. It’s true! We wouldn’t have hired you if you didn’t bring value to our growing team. A lot of times it’s your fresh eyes that can bring new perspective and innovation to our organization. I want you to feel empowered from day one to be your true authentic self. We are going to spend time talking about leveraging this superpower to bring about meaningful change in a class called “Bringing Your Whole Self to Work.” We want to make sure you always feel welcomed, heard, and valued, and any other new employees that come after you. We also want to make sure you are well-equipped in financial education.

There will come a time that what you learn in this class can help our membership, community, or someone you care about! We discuss our consumer products, so you get an understanding of what services and products we offer our members. We will go out and volunteer in our community so you can see our values in action. The highlight for many new employees is meeting our executive team. Yes, in your first week you’ll spend time getting to know our Chiefs and Senior Vice-Presidents. I think it’s incredibly important that you get to know your leaders, their vision, and make sure they align with yours. We’ll discuss credit unions, their history, and Member One’s specifically. There is so much more that we pack into this orientation, but I’ll let that be a surprise.

I promise by the end of the week, you’ll be drinking the credit union Kool-Aid just like the rest of us!
