Join us as we celebrate Traill College's 60th Anniversary with a special cruise with Peterborough's Liftlock Cruises
Discover the unbelievable beauty in this remote region of the Kawarthas.
The popular sightseeing cruise departs from the Peterborough Marina, next to the Holiday Inn near Del Crary Park. You will be entertained by the captain’s colourful commentary on the history of Peterborough and the Trent Severn Waterway. The tour takes us across Little Lake, past the Peterborough Centennial Fountain and into the City of Peterborough portion of the 118-year-old lock system, the first traditional flood lock raises us 12 feet, to the highlight of our trip. Where we go up and over the Peterborough Lift Lock which is the world’s highest hydraulic Lift Lock which lifts 65 feet or 19.8m above the city! There is a canteen where people can purchase snacks such as chips, chocolate bars, popcorn, juice, pop, coffee, beer, wine and mix drinks.
Please arrive at 2:30pm so that there is time to get everyone checked in and boarded.
The Island Princess III
The Island Princess III has an enclosed lower deck and a canopied upper deck and is certified annually by the Canadian Coast Guard and carries all the recommended safety and navigation equipment. The crew is trained in marine emergency duties and our Captains have CPR and First Aid Certificates. There are washrooms and snack bar facilities onboard, and the vessel is wheelchair friendly on the lower deck only. The lower deck is wheelchair accessible, however the washrooms are not accessible. There is a wheelchair accessible washroom located at the marina before boarding. Wheelchair access is 29".
LOCATION: 92 George Street North, Peterborough, ON K9J 3G6. There is a parking lot run by the city located at the marina, Monday -Friday parking is $1.50 per hour and Free on Weekends. (However, the parking lot does close for special events). Free parking is available on the side streets. Please do not park at the Holiday Inn unless you are a guest of the hotel.
