Beginner - intermediate course, no sculptural experience necessary.

In this course you will learn MIG welding as a sculptural tool. You will learn hammering and bending techniques to form steel into the shapes of mushrooms and connect them using welding. You will leave this class with metal mushrooms ready for your garden or yard.

Safety notes:

Please come to class in safe attire. Wear only natural fibers (cotton preferred, NO synthetics). Wear a cotton shirt, pants, and close-toed shoes. If you have long hair, bring something to pull it back. This is necessary metal-shop attire for your own safety and the teacher reserves the right to refuse access to students dressed unsafely. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided, including earplugs, welding jackets, welding helmets, safety glasses, and gloves. Students will be exposed to metal shop conditions including loud noises, bright lights, and heat.
