Canadian Elite Academy

The Canadian Elite Academy presents the "First ContactDevelopment" sessions. This innovative program is meticulously crafted to assist athletes in honing their first-contact skills in various game situations, thus propelling their performance to new heights.

Aptly named "First ContactDevelopment," this session is a specialized training program emphasizing developing the athletes' proficiency in executing the first contact. This initial touch shapes the direction of the play. Athletes can perfect their techniques in individual serve receive, free balls, down balls, and defence. We will also work on team situations to foster team-building and collaborative skills.

This program is open to 16 athletes who strongly desire to improve their skills and possess the grit and determination to train rigorously. While our primary focus will be on athletes within the U14 and U15 age club groups or grades 6-9, we welcome applications from those who might be slightly younger or older. This broad guideline is designed to ensure that we have a diverse range of participants who can learn from each other and enhance the overall dynamics of the training sessions.

Considering the intensive training, we specifically target athletes with up to single or two seasons of training as club players. This ensures that we work with individuals who can fully appreciate the importance of the first contact and have the raw potential to be nurtured and developed.

Applicants must understand the commitment, work ethic, and desire to push the boundaries consistently to be better tomorrow than they are today. As such, we expect our athletes to be dedicated, coachable, willing to work harder than others and intrinsically motivated to train beyond a team's regular practice hours. During these sessions, our trained professionals and experienced coaches will provide comprehensive guidance and feedback, enabling athletes to advance their skills efficiently and effectively.
