Dinner for Pleasant Valley Shelter Residents
Tue, Dec 31, 2024, 7:00 – 8:30 PM EST
Northside Common Ministries, 1601 Brighton Rd, Pittsburgh, PA Map
“The main reason I prepare and serve the meal is that I enjoy knowing I am making a difference in the lives of the men who stay at the shelter. They are always very appreciative. A secondary reason is that by having my family help prepare the meal and serve the men at the shelter, they learn important life lessons as well.” - Michelle Mansfield, volunteer from Ridgewood Assembly of God
Every day of the year, generous volunteers from churches and other organizations throughout the Pittsburgh area prepare, deliver, and serve evening meals for the shelter residents. Hundreds of volunteers are involved in this important and much appreciated process.
What to expect:
- Arrive between 7:00pm- 8:00pm.
- Prepare and deliver a meal that can feed at least 30 men.
- You are always welcome to stay and serve or to drop off the food if serving is not an option. You can also bring family, friends, colleagues, etc.
- Be aware of nut allergies. We also try to stay away from pork.
- You can warm up and prepare food in the kitchen on site.
If you have additional questions, please call 412-323-1163. For other ways to get involved visit NCM's website.
