Outdoor Education (Ages 5-13)
Welcome to our Outdoor Education program This hands-on program is designed to provide kids with an exciting and educational experience in the great outdoors. Throughout the course, participants will engage in a variety of activities that foster valuable skills and knowledge.
From practicing the art of various fire lays and learning the essentials of fire-building to honing the ancient skill of foraging for edible plants, students will develop a deep understanding of their natural surroundings and their role in the ecosystem. Our instructors will guide them through the process of tracking wildlife, teaching them how to read signs and patterns left by animals.
Safety is our utmost priority, and students will learn the proper techniques of knot tying and safe knife use, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills to handle tools responsibly. In addition, participants will gain insight into the art of shelter building, crafting protection from natural elements using resources found in the environment.
Storytelling around the campfire will also be a cherished activity, fostering a sense of community and allowing students to connect with the rich traditions of outdoor lore. By the end of the course, participants will leave with newfound confidence, a deeper appreciation for nature, and a toolkit of skills that will serve them well in any outdoor adventure.
