Initial Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Training (In-Person)
*This training is only available to current INDIGO Education's clients' school staff.
CPI is an international training organization committed to best practices and safe behavior management methods focusing on prevention. Through various specialized offerings and innovative resources, CPI educates and empowers professionals to create safe and respectful work environments and enrich the lives of the individuals they serve.
Since 1980, over 10 million professionals have participated in CPI training programs.
Initial Class: This class is designed for people who have never had CPI training or have had a long lapse since they were initially trained (2+ years ago).
A classroom portion focuses on de-escalation techniques (approx. 4 - 5 hours), and a physical portion to practice holding and disengagement skills (2.5 hours).
This portion of the course requires staff physical contact. Please ensure the staff attending this event knows there will be physical contact for the practicing holds and disengagement skills portions.
A 30-45 minute lunch break will be provided. Please bring your lunch, or there are some nearby local places to pick up food.
The BLUE CARD/CPI Certification will be provided after completing this 8-hour course.
