Adult Shibori Indigo Dye Workshop
Adult Shibori Indigo Dye Workshop
Instructor: projectART Facilitator
Ages: Adult
Shibori is a nearly 1300 year old Japanese dyeing technique where fabrics are manipulated through binding, folding, twisting, and compressing before being submerged in an indigo dye vat. The resulting patterns create beautiful designs in deep blue and bright white tones. Shibori is a safe and exciting way to create one of a kind works of art.
In this workshop participants will explore methods for manipulating fabric to achieve elaborate shibori patterns. Each registration includes the instruction and materials needed to create a set of 4 hand dyed tea towels with the option to purchase additional blanks and materials. All levels welcome.
Please note that all courses require a minimum of 5 enrolled students to proceed.
What makes our adult workshops unique?
Adult workshops help support our mission, "to support art education and provide creative opportunities for area students." Summer Saturdays welcome community members into ARTSPACE to explore new creative passions. Like our classes and camps, Summer Saturdays workshops maintain a low student-teacher ratio, allowing participants to dive deeper into subjects in a peaceful and enriching learning environment.
