Come spend an afternoon making theater and meeting creative folks in your community! Compass Arts is expanding our adult offerings, and we’re aiming to be a gathering and connecting space for local theater makers. This workshop is the first in a series of low- or no-cost opportunities for area adults to make theater together, through classes, training, workshops, readings, performances, and productions.

Over the course of this two-hour workshop, we’ll do physical, vocal, text and ensemble building work and devise an original theater piece. By making something together from nothing, we’ll all get to know our creative neighbors a little better. Come with a curious mind, an open heart, and dressed to move.

This workshop is for anyone with a relationship to theater - whether you're a working professional, did theater in a past life, or aspire to start. If you're looking to connect, experiment, and meet like-minded folks, this afternoon is for you.

Free childcare will be provided by Compass Arts.

The aims of our adult theater program are:

• To extend our process-centered creative community to include more adults.
  
• To create an artistic home base for Hudson Valley theater artists.
  
• To engage Hudson Valley residents with stories that matter to them.
  
• To build empathy, awareness, compassion, and equity through art-making.
