Course Description

This SQA-accredited Street Works re-assessment course is for candidates who already hold full Street Works qualifications.

We offer re-assessment for operatives who hold:

• (LA) Location and avoidance of underground apparatus
• (O1) Signing lighting guarding
• (O2) Excavation in the highway
• (O3) Reinstatement and compaction of backfill materials
• (O4) Reinstatement of sub-base and base in non-bituminous materials
• (O5) Reinstatement of cold-lay bituminous materials
• (O6) Reinstatement in hot-lay bituminous materials
• (O8) Reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways

We also offer re-assessment for supervisors who hold:

• (LA) Location and avoidance of underground apparatus
• (S1) Monitoring signing lighting guarding
• (S2) Monitoring excavation in the highway
• (S3) Monitoring reinstatement and compaction of backfill materials
• (S4) Monitoring reinstatement of sub-base and base in non-bituminous materials
• (S5) Monitoring reinstatement in bituminous materials
• (S7) Monitoring reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways

Course Aims

The re-assessment programme enables candidates who currently hold operative and/or supervisor Street Works registrations to obtain renewals of their SWQR card through an invigilated re-assessment programme.

Who Should Attend?

This course should be undertaken by candidates who hold existing valid SWQR registrations and certifications for both operative and supervisor units.

**Candidates can renew their qualifications by reassessment any time up to 5 years after the expiry date shown on their street works card. If more than 5 years have passed since the expiry date, candidates must undergo a full assessment of their qualifications and will not be eligible for re-assessment. Please note that candidates can not operate on the roadway or highway if their SWQR Street Works card has expired.**
