PCFS Rope Rescue Qualification Course
PCFS is offering an expedited, 4-week, training program to members who have previous rope rescue experience. This qualification will be available to those who have previous rope rescue training including, but not limited to: Raven Roadside Rescue, Low Slope, Rope Access, 1006, etc. If you believe you have relevant experience that is not included in the previously mentioned programs, please feel free to reach out to chris.davies@parklandcounty.com to see if we can make any accommodations.
The training program will be held at the West Central Fire Station for the first two Tuesdays in November, the 5th and 12th. The final Tuesdays, 19th and 26th, will be held off site on select slopes to facilitate hands-on scenarios. To receive the internal Qualification, you MUST attend ALL 4 training nights. There will be a short exam on day one to ensure that your theoretical knowledge is acceptable. Depending on level of interest, space may be limited.
** This course is extremely physical, you will be required to be in a harness, hanging on a steep slope, for potentially an hour at a time. Please consider this before signing up.**
Please add your previous rope experience in the notes segment of the registration so that we can ensure that everyone is eligible to participate.
