PART 2 | Elementary: The Elements of Art & Principles of Design
This is a continuation of the required Part 1 class. During this class we will spend about 15 minutes building on what we have learned and move on to the more complicated elements of Space, Form, Value, and Texture.
Space: Positive/Negative Space, Composition, Overlapping, Foreground/Background, Perspective, Depth
Form (3D Shapes): Perspective to Draw Forms, Names and Parts of Forms, Geometric and Organic
Value: Value Scale, Light/Shadow, Value for Shapes, Value for Forms, Value & Color/Tints & Shades
Texture: Dots/Stippling/Pointillism, Hatching & Cross-Hatching, Blending and Techniques for Textures
We will also spend a few minutes studying iconic works of art from artists of both past and present. Learning how to use the elements and principles to analyze the art pieces. We will then spend the remaining time (about 30-40 min.) getting creative with fun hands-on art projects and activities.
The goal for this semester is that they will "...learn to trust their ideas, themselves, and to explore what is possible."
This is a year long class, split into two semesters. Must take Part One before taking this Part Two class. Art supplies are included in the cost.
