This full-day course is ideal for riders on a Learner licence or those on a Class 6 Restricted licence riding LAMS-approved machines.
What you’ll get out of it
This course contains all of the the training you need to support a successful move from your Learner to Restricted Motorcycle Licence, including:
Correct observational techniques using mirrors and blindspot checks.
A sound understanding of urban and rural road positioning in order to better see and be seen, and it’s importance in cornering.
Improved skills in low-speed manoeuvring, braking and clutch control.
Understanding the right speed and gear for any riding situation.
On the day
Your Instructor is a highly qualified Motorcyclist, so you can be sure of expert individualised tuition from someone with the expertise to deliver it.
After a thorough briefing and safety check you’ll head out onto a mix of urban and rural roads, including some higher speed sections.
Practicing skills may take place off-highway with several stops for assessment, including a lunch break at a café.
Note:
Courses WILL run in wet weather and a course will only be cancelled if the weather conditions would make it dangerous to operate.
It is important to learn to ride your bike on wet or compromised surfaces and if its raining, it’s an ideal opportunity to learn these skills.
Ensure you wear protective motorcycle clothing, top to toe, waterproofs are recommended, and as we will stop for lunch bring some money or a pack-up if you prefer.
Please check your motorcycle for roadworthiness before attending, ensuring the tyres are inflated to the correct pressure, the lights work and it has a current WOF and registration.
If you are on a Learner or Restricted Motorcycle Licence, you need to be riding a Learner Approved Motorcycle (LAMS) approved bike to attend this course.
