Visit the Cobb County Probate Pro Se Clinic for brief advice from volunteer attorneys. Volunteer attorneys provide brief advice about which action to file in decedent’s estate cases and adult or minor guardianships only.
Volunteer attorneys do not advise on minor conservatorships, mental health cases, marriage or firearms licenses, or any case not involving Cobb Probate Court. Volunteer attorneys cannot represent you in court and are not your attorney of record. You may be able to hire the attorney you meet or you may call the Cobb Bar Lawyer Referral Line at (770) 424-2947.
Meet with a volunteer attorney at no cost for up to 30 minutes. The attorney will review your particular situation and will provide brief advice about which action to file and which forms to use in Cobb Probate Court. No attorney-client relationship is established by meeting with a volunteer attorney at the probate clinic.
Attendees with completed registration will be called by a volunteer attorney on the day of the clinic between the hours of 10:30am and 12:30am. It is important that you be available by phone during this time. Please note each appointment is strictly limited to 30 minutes. We are glad to provide this free service to our community and ask that you thank your volunteer attorney for donating their time.
Please be sure to send us any relevant documents or information by email to Cathy Waddell (cwaddell@atlantalegalaid.org) or Jennifer DeWoody (jdewoody@atlantalegalaid.org). This includes any documents previously filed with the probate court.
Attendance at the clinic is limited to two (2) visits in a six (6) month period.
