This workshop focuses on all aspects of the query letter process, from crafting a compelling letter to navigating the process of approaching agents. Learn how to effectively summarize your work in a pitch, the most important components of a query letter, how comp titles work, and common pitfalls to avoid. This four-hour, two-session workshop will combine instruction, reading, and discussion of sample query letters; in-class writing exercises and workshopping of query letters; plus an open Q&A about publishing. It is intended for writers who have already finished their proposal or manuscript and want to take next steps; you should finish the workshop with a streamlined query letter and a strategy for your query process.
