*Beginning Blacksmithing
Tuition: $165; plus additional materials fee of $10, paid to instructor at class
Ages: 13-Adult (under 13 can work together with a supervising adult on the same forge)
Gain a strong foundation in the art of blacksmithing. Along with fire maintenance and hammer control, learn core techniques for hand-forging tapers, bending and twisting to create hooks and a coat rack. People of all ages and genders can excel at blacksmithing. Come prepared to have a lot of fun and leave with your own hand-forged ironwork. Please bring safety glasses, heavy work gloves, and hearing protection. Students enter the Blacksmith studio from the Mill’s entrance at the back of the School of the Arts. There will be a midday break for lunch.
