Blacksmithing & Woodturning: Tomahawks
Tuition: $165; plus additional materials fee of $10, paid to instructors at class
Ages: Adult
Gain a strong foundation in the art of blacksmithing and woodturning in this special dual offering! In the blacksmithing studio, learn fire maintenance, hammer control, and core techniques to create a hand-forged tomahawk blade. In the woodshop, you will create a customized woodturned handle utilizing a lathe. Your instructors will guide you to create your very own tomahawk from start to finish.
Come prepared to have a lot of fun and leave with your own hand-forged tomahawk. Please bring safety glasses, heavy work gloves, and hearing protection. Students enter the Blacksmith studio from the Mill’s entrance at the back of the School of the Arts. There will be a midday break for lunch.
