In this research area, students experience the versatility of Python in programming solutions to common math problems. They will learn to use Python to define Functions, and explore other techniques such as the For Loop, Range(), List and the usage of the Matplotlib module.
By the end of the module, students will have created several Mathematical Programs, including one on Data Analytics - to return measures of central tendency for different kinds of averages (Eg. mean, median, mode), plotting graphical illustrations (Pie Chart, Line Graphs), a 3D Shape Calculator (to calculate perimeter, area and volume), and even a program that utilises HCF/GCD to reduce fractions to their simplest form with a click of a button.
