Workshops are Non-refundable.

Join us for this fun-filled class as we sketch scenes of Jerome and the Arizona desert. I will show you a unique way to sketch historical buildings and our colorful desert. We will discuss step by step how to set up and complete a sketch. We will then add watercolor to enhance our sketch. Later in the class, I will show you how to use a razor blade and ink to lay a bold foundation for your sketch. You don’t want to miss this exciting class.

Supply List for Urban Sketching Class

1. A mechanical pencil or a regular pencil.

2. Pens- one with waterproof ink- Pigma Micron is a brand that works well. ( a size .03) will be fine. I will also be using a few Towbow water-based makers. N89 N55 N15 (You can get these at Michaels or your local art supply store. You can also just use a light grey marker.

3. Paper to sketch on - You may want to us hot press or cold press watercolor paper. 140 lb. paper is best. You can paint on any size you wish. I will be using quarter sheet (cold press) size paper for my demo. You can also bring your sketchbook to sketch in.

4. Please use your normal watercolor materials. or a small kit of watercolors and a few brushes. (maybe a #10 round and a 1/2 inch flat brush)

5. A few paper towels and a container for water.

6. A small spray bottle

7. An old credit card to use for scraping

8. You may wish to bring gloves as we will also be working with India ink. Make sure the gloves have a snug fit!! I will bring extra gloves.

9. I will provide razor blades and ink. Please also bring a small container (with a flat bottom) for the ink. Tuna cans, metal mint containers, or a small smooth bottom plastic plate, will work well.
