Improvisation -- Tuesday --- 11:00 to 11:55 -- (Carol Lynch)
Improvisation is the art of imagining things on the spot-characters, situations, or whole scenes. It is not acting with a script or playing off a script. Improvisation is created entirely in the moment which makes it often funny.
In recent years there has been a bounty of research on the benefits of utilizing improvisation as a therapeutic tool. reduces social anxiety, reduces uncertainty intolerance, and boosts creativity.
This class would be a fun learning experience for people who are extroverted and want to perform, but also for people who are introverted and want a safe place to play and imagine. It is fun, and one laughs through most of the class as the time flies by. The physical requirement is minimal. Each 1-hour class would have 3 games that have different purposes, but all involve imagination and working together.
