Poets & Writers

This class, open to poets of all levels of experience, will stress autobiographical, narrative lyric. We will read and discuss a wide array of engaging, accessible poems by diverse contemporary authors alongside the work of class participants who have used those poems as prompts, either in imitation or more general response. The close observation of daily life, and the deeper observations of the mind and spirit those observations can lead to, will serve as the guiding principle for this class’s extended meditation on the poetry that is always available to us to read and write.
