Overview
The BHR Programme is a domestic abuse behaviour change programme, delivered by the Probation and Aftercare Service. The programme is for any adults who are motivated to change their harmful behaviours in their relationships.
This programme aims to invite clients to accept responsibility for their past abusive behaviours and future behaviour. It works on a model of the client building respect for the facilitators, by learning to respect themselves, their past and future partners. Accountability is a key objective.
This programme is not a stand-alone programme and of itself is not a full response to intimate partner violence. It has to be considered alongside the input of other agencies and activities designed to promote family safety.
