Watauga Arts Council

In this drumming course, students will learn hand positions and stick techniques on how to produce notes on African hand drums. Expect to learn rhythmic patterns and tonal blends that make up drum orchestration. Students will also be given video practice exercises of the class' content. The goal of this course is to make beautiful drum music together, whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced drummer. Students can expect patience from the instructor, who would like you to have patience with yourself as well.

Please note: Please bring your djembe, conga or hand drum to the class. We can provide drums for a rental fee of $10 for all four weeks; it takes a lot of work from the instructor to haul these drums from home.
