This course is structured for those who have experience of riding a manual motorcycle.

A manual motorcycle is one that has a clutch and gears, and so does not include an ATV or automatic scooter.

1 hour training, 30 minute assessment (if you are ready).

You should already be familiar with the controls of a motorcycle and be able to ride a motorcycle in a stable and reasonable competent manner. You will need good clutch control. You will receive training that familerises you with the NZTA BHST assessment and the required safety checks. There is limited time to teach you to ride a motorcycle. If you need tuition on how to ride, you will need a New Rider course before attempting this session.

This course is 90 minutes in duration, and includes the time to meet you, provide you equipment, discussion, debrief and completion of a certificate if applicable.

At the conclusion of the training, you will attempt the Basic Handling Skills Assessment if you are ready.

Use of a motorcycle is included in the cost. If you arrive for this session and you are not already a competent rider, you will need to return on a New Rider, 2 hour training session before you re-attempt the BHST. Please ensure you read our cancellation policy on our website before booking.
