Tablespace II: Intermediate Ceramics
TableSpace Part II
Intermediate Ceramics
If you already understand the basics of working on a pottery wheel and are ready to push your skills to the next level, this course is for you. Like the original Tablespace class, you’ll focus on making kitchen and tableware and how ceramics for the kitchen can support our social, emotional, physical and spiritual wellness! This is an eight week course for students with experience who want to take their skills to the next level. We will dive into intermediate skill development such as handles, lids, spouts, multi-step projects, and more. Each week will feature a lesson on ceramics (wheel throwing, trimming and finishing, surface decoration, and glazing), as well as a lesson on the connection between tableware and wellness practices. Each weekly session is three hours, and participants will have access to open studio hours while enrolled in the class. Participants will have the opportunity to fire a few pieces to take home! Each class will have a maximum of seven participants, and each will receive plenty of individualized support.
