Description
The Erika Napkin Basket is the perfect start to your weaving journey. We’ll weave a filled base, learn chicken feet, upsetting spokes, single row weaving, how to add accent colors, and a really fun matchstick border.
- When registering, students will be given the option to purchase an additional basket kit for $25. People who have made baskets before may have time to do 2. Others may like a kit to work on at home.
Prerequisites for participants: No experience needed, just an interest in learning
Materials to be provided by/additional instructions for students:
Please bring to class:
- A tub or bucket for soaking reed
- A spray bottle for water
- Measuring tape
- A towel
- Clothespins
- Something heavy to act as a spoke weight. (Can be your water tub depending on type, a rice bag, heavy book, etc.)
- Scissors that can cut reed
Recommended:
- an apron
- basketry sheers ( I will have multiple that we can share, but it’s easiest if everyone has their own pair, especially once we get to that border!)
- Bring a snack if you’d like. Hot water is available for drinks.
