Wainman House
Join this Moderate event with 3 days of walking hopefully including a walk along the banks of the River Nene which forms part of the Nene Valley Way, exploring the Wash nature reserve on Sir Peter Scott’s walk and staying at the lovely National Trust’s Wainman House with access to the grounds of the National Trust’s Peckover House.
Wainman House is a hidden gem in the small market town of Wisbech. Behind its modest Georgian exterior lies an elegant house where much of its refined neoclassical style remains. Mosaicked floors, wood panelled walls, a couple of four-poster beds and period fireplaces will help give this holiday stay a truly luxurious feel.
We shall be group catering for evening meals (for which a separate charge will apply) and it will be self-catering for breakfasts and packed lunches.
The West Norfolk coast is just a 30 minute drive from here. We shall explore the Wash National Nature Reserve, the largest bay in England, with its unusual coastal scenery made up of saltmarshes, mudflats and open water.
This is a moderate event and there will be two full days of walking on the Saturday and Sunday with a shorter walk on the Monday (aiming to finish by 3 pm). The walks are of course optional and there are opportunities for people to do their own thing and visit various places of interest or to just relax in the House or the grounds of Peckover House.
We only have a small number of places available for this event so please book early to avoid disappointment!
