We have heard a lot about Artificial Intelligence these days and its benefits, and drawback, but how can it help you as a peer support worker? Join Peer Educator, Sharece Sellem-Hannah and Public Allies Intern, Ava Buckalew for an engaging and informative session that delves into the ethical practices and emerging applications of artificial intelligence (AI) within the recovery field. This CEU will focus on practical, peer-related work where AI can make a significant impact, such as enhancing communication between peer support specialists and clients, organizing and maintaining up-to-date recovery resources, and simplifying administrative duties to allow more time for meaningful client interactions.
Participants will explore the dos and don’ts of using AI responsibly, with a focus on upholding confidentiality and maintaining human-centered support. Additionally, the session will provide a beginner-friendly introduction to utilizing AI tools for tasks like writing professional emails, automating follow-up reminders, and managing small, time-sensitive projects efficiently. This training aims to empower peer support specialists with knowledge and skills to ethically and effectively integrate AI into their daily practices, ultimately improving service delivery and outcomes in the recovery community.
