Watkins Mixed Media -- Mixed media class using acrylics

Classes are nonrefundable.

Using fluid acrylic we will explore layering and glazing with transparent colors. You’ll be able to complete several paintings.

Materials
For the acrylics. Golden is a great brand and you can buy the 1 ounce containers, but Blick also has fluid acrylics that are good and cheaper.

    • teal,
    • Indian yellow,
    • permanent red oxide,
    • Pyro orange,
    • hansa yellow,
    • nickel azo yellow,
    • nickle azo gold,
    • trans oxide red,
    • Titian bluff,
    • black,
    • white,
    • any of the quinacridones,
    • any of the pthalos.

This is one one-color palette. You may want another color pallet, although the first project will be in warm colors another could be in cool colors, such as blues, etc..bring a few tube paints if you have them.

Bring a black Sharpie pen, gloss medium, spray bottle, stencils, stamps, an old bath towel, and various materials to make marks and texture, such as bubble wrap, corrugated, cardboard,, old credit card, comb, Saran wrap, etc.

Also cosmetic sponges, stencils, paper towels, foam brushes in various sizes. You can work on canvas or wood or watercolor paper that has been covered with gesso.

Optional are acrylic paint pens.
