Print the Legacy: A Black History Poster Workshop
Celebrate Black History Month by learning the art of screen printing while honoring Black culture and history. This hands-on workshop offers participants the unique opportunity to experience the creative and collaborative process of mass production while creating meaningful art. Together, we’ll design and produce a Black History-inspired poster, which will be available through the Verge Store as part of a special fundraising initiative.
What Participants Will Gain:
- Hands-On Screen Printing Experience: Learn the fundamentals of screen printing, including design preparation, setting up the press, and executing prints.
- Community Collaboration: Work as a team to create a visually stunning, culturally significant poster.
- Skills in Production: Gain insight into the process of mass-producing art pieces, an essential skill in professional printing.
- Creative Empowerment: Use art to share and celebrate stories of resilience, empowerment, and history.
How It Works:
- Buy-In: Participants pay a workshop fee that includes all materials, tools, and instruction.
- Production Process: Each participant will contribute to the production of a limited run of high-quality posters.
- Fundraiser: Each participant will leave with an edition of the poster while the remaining posters will be available in the Verge Store as a limited edition "pay what you wish" item. All donations generated from the poster will go directly towards supporting a Sacramento cultural organization.
