First Churches - Lyman Hall, 129 Main Street, Northampton, MA Map
Appropriately timed for the 2025 Martin Luther King Jr. weekend and Inauguration Day, this workshop/training will provide some nonviolence and de-escalation resources for taking direct action as well as community building and awareness about the history and power of nonviolence for transformational social change. Participants will have some basic understanding of the process involved and reasons for and against civil disobedience. The heart of the training is to prepare participants to nonviolently resist unjust policies so that we can more effectively build a more just and peaceful world.
