Quilted Coat Workshop: Make a Statement This Winter
Stay cozy and stylish during the cold winter months with your very own original quilted coat! Join us in January for a fun and creative six-week class where you'll learn to craft a unique, handmade garment that will not only keep you warm but also make a bold fashion statement.
In this class, we’ll guide you through every step of the process, from selecting the right size with muslin samples to piecing and quilting your fabric before assembling your coat. Whether you’re looking for a pop of color or a classic design, this project allows you to personalize your coat to match your style.
Fabric requirements will be discussed during the first session, and while the samples feature 5-inch squares and 2 ½-inch strips, we do not recommend using precuts for this project. The Sewing Labs has a variety of solid fabrics and batting for the coat lining, but you may wish to purchase quilt fabric for the outer layer to truly make it your own.
Class Details:
- Dates: January 14, 21, 28, February 4, 11, 18
- Time: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Skill Level: Basic sewing machine operation required
Let us help you beat the winter chill while creating a one-of-a-kind quilted coat that you'll treasure for years to come. We can't wait to see what you create!
Please note that this class is for advanced sewists. Knowledge of quilting AND garment construction is a prerequisite.
