Audience:
This course is suitable for anyone who works with children and young people and their families.
Aim:
To enable all those working with children and young people and their families to gain a greater understanding of child exploitation and its impact on children and young people. The session will also introduce delegates to the Child Exploitation Risk Assessment.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the definitions relevant to child exploitation
- Understand some of the terminology and models within child exploitation (CE)
- Identify risk factors associated with children that may be at risk of exploitation
- Identify the signs and indicators for when a child may be being exploited
- Identify ways to improve practitioner’s observation, assessment and documentation of exploitation
- Increase knowledge of the local picture and resources available to support children affected by child exploitation
Pre-Course Work:
There is no workbook for this course, however delegates are expected to have completed the Child Foundation-Level Safeguarding Training within their workplace or online via the Care Academy (existing users only).
Please Note: This event is a 3.5-hour face to face session.
