AZ DPS 16-hour ARMED SECURITY GUARD TRAINING
16-hour course: Day-1 is 8am to 5pm in the classroom. Day-2 is 8am to 5pm in the classroom and on the range.
Course topics include:
This AZ DPS Armed Security Guard Firearms Training course meets and exceeds the mandatory pre-assignment training requirements for armed security guards in the State of Arizona. This course is required and must be completed prior to submitting an armed security guard license application. This 16-hour course is designed to teach the basics of gun safety, marksmanship, maintenance and familiarization, as well as legal issues related to the use of deadly physical force. All training is conducted by an AZ DPS Licensed Firearms/Security Guard Instructor.

Students must bring:
Their duty belt with all required belt attachments for their job (lethal and non-lethal). 250 Rounds of ammunition and 50 rounds of duty ammunition.
Students will be given the paperwork needed to file for their Guard Card License.
Students needing a fingerprint card can have that done at the end of this course for an additional cost of $35.00.
