American Art - Early 20th Century Art (In-Person, Online and Replay)

The early 20th century marked a period of dramatic change and experimentation in American art, influenced by both European movements and the rapidly changing social, political, and technological landscape in the United States. This period includes a variety of styles, from realism to abstraction, and reflects both urbanization and the effects of modern life. This course will cover the various art movements in this period including Realism and Regionalism, Modernism, The Ashcan School, American Scene Painting, Abstract Expressionism. Artists included: Edward Hopper, Georgia O'Keeffe, Grant Wood, Jackson Pollock, Lee Krasner and Charles Demuth.

This class will have a 25 minute coffee break at 12 pm
