The BRC1 (Basic Rider Course 1) covers the basics of operating a motorcycle and safety-oriented mental strategies. This course consists of:
- a 5-hr computer-based training eCourse (1)
- a couple of short PRO-required pre-course preparation videos (and having related documents to review and/or sign), with each covering a different pre-course topic (1)
- a required 15-30 minute Meet 'n Greet / QA session (1)(2)
- 11 hrs of on-range motorcycle riding sessions conducted typically over two (5.5 hrs / ea) days, including a skills test at the end of the last range day
Notes:
(1) this activity must be completed within 3 to 30 days prior to any class-related activity (i.e. the Meet 'n Greet or range session)
(2) there are numerous virtual online sessions available to choose from throughout the week prior to your class; also, an onsite, in-person option is available for those that want to a more personal touch prior to the range portion. all options will be detailed in your registration email.
Successful completion of this course will earn you a waiver card that waives the road-test requirement for the "M" endorsement on your license in Wisconsin (and most other states). The course may also earn you an insurance discount (depending on your insurance company).
The course fee is inclusive of all costs including: the online eCourse, riding, and taxes.
