McDonald's 13-Under Winter 2025 Ball Hockey League is designed to maximize the opportunity to get all players into the game. Our League will give young players the best on-floor experience, which leads to more skills, more floor time and more fun! Our league will help develop the finer points of hockey, and will benefit them in the long term.

Games will be 6:00 PM each Sunday throughout the duration of the League. Schedule** will be posted in advance.

**Games are currently scheduled for 6:00 PM however are subject to change, pending on floor availability.

Week 1 – Evaluations [Monday evenings]

Weeks 4, 13 – Skill Development Training Sessions [Monday evenings]

Weeks 7 & 11 – Special Themed Mini Tournaments

10 Game Season (including Playoffs)

13-Under* [13U (Ages 11 & 12)] McDonald’s Ball Hockey League [15 weeks] is open to children who are under Thirteen (13) years of age as of Dec. 31 of the current season.

We are aware that sometimes even though children may be younger than the required age group they may be able to participate in such groups at a similar level thus we can accept your child even if they are not quite 11yrs of age.

*Children younger than Thirteen (13) years of age by the start of the league may be accepted into the league or recommended for a higher age division league.

Our league is suitable for children ranging from eleven (11) and twelve (12) yrs of age, teams are created after the evaluation period with an even number of age criteria and skill level on each team.

We promote a strong emphasis on teamwork and anti-bullying.

BENEFITS OF THE HOCKEY BUDS BALL HOCKEY LEAGUE

Help improve on ice skills. (Ice hockey at a young age will focus more on skating where ball hockey’s emphasis is on skills through fun exercises!)

Qualified Officials are on the floor during games to stop the play periodically when mistakes are made. Our qualified coaching staff will maintain each team bench. Teams will consist of a maximum of 1 line change thus giving players more floor time.

Penalty shots will be awarded at the end of each period for any infractions that occurred during the game with such infractions being explained.

Team evaluations/practices with an emphasis on improving current skills and creating new ones.
