Monoprinting on Gel Printing Plates Workshop

In this workshop, participants will experiment with using paint & stencils to monoprint on gel printmaking plates. Make one of a kind prints and papers that can be used to make collages, small books, cards - the possibilities are endless! Veronica will show you step by step how to use the simple tools to create stunning results with paper, paint and other art materials you may not have thought of before. So be ready to open your creative art window to this adventure making beautiful monoprints. These prints are made using a soft printing plate, paper, acrylic paint, simple tools and can be used in collages, book pages, prints and many other projects. No art experience is needed except imagination.
Veronica Janssen is an artist who studied at the MFA in Boston after a completely different career. Veronica has spent a lifetime exploring many art mediums starting from crayons and pencils to watercolor, acrylic paint and more. She is drawn to color and texture and her work is mostly abstract mixed media, inspired by intuition and imagination. Using the Gelli Plate has influenced her artist expression in many ways as a tool that provides unexpected results that adds extra depth and interest in her artwork. She exhibits at local art associations and was recently awarded first prize at the Wickford Art Association Exhibit, “Putting it on Paper”.
