Raku Workshop - 5 Day - Afternoons
Who wants to play with fire? Join us for our annual outdoor Raku Firing, a 5-day workshop to construct, glaze and firing your pieces in this unique outdoor pottery experience.
What is Raku? It is an alternative firing process that takes place in an outdoor kiln, where potters remove their pieces from a blazing hot kiln and then add them to containers of combustible material. This creates gorgeous, metallic glazes by introducing more carbon and restricting oxygen during the glaze cool-down.
Pieces are not food-safe, and still make beautiful functional pieces like platers, candle-holders and sculptures.
Note: This course takes place at both the Clay Studio Collective and at Krista Cameron Pottery (KCP) Studio (just 5 minutes away).
