5th-7th Art + Textiles - Summer Camp
5th-7th Art + Textiles - Summer Camp
Art Instructor: Jennifer Ober
Textiles Instructor: Pearly Rihn
Ages: Rising 5th-7th Grades
School's out but ARTSPACE is in session. This camp is the ultimate for tweens who love hands-on creative experiences! Join Jennifer and Pearly, who bring years of high-quality fine arts and textiles experience to the ARTSPACE classroom. Jennifer will lead students through a variety of art media including printmaking and ceramics. Pearly will introduce students to natural fabric dying then incorporate those hand-dyed fabrics into original textiles. Throughout the day, students will break for outdoor and social time. You'll be blown away by the art the kids create by the end of the week!
All projects are specifically designed to accommodate students of all skill levels and can be adjusted accordingly to meet each student's specific needs. No prior art or sewing experience is needed.
Jennifer, a graduate of UT Austin with a BFA in Studio Art, added her TX teaching certification in 2001. She taught K-6 art in Austin ISD for 10 years, earning Teacher of the Year in 2007. Upon moving to Wimberley, she began offering summer camps and after school art classes out of her private studio and taught K-12 art at Hill Country Academy in Dripping Springs. These days, she donates her time to projectART as a founding board member and regular instructor.
