This dynamic 2-day course combines intuitive defensive handgun proficiency, live-fire training, and real-world defensive shooting context with hands-on medical scenarios. With a high round count, you’ll develop intuitive shooting techniques and learn to treat life-threatening injuries, building confidence and competence under pressure.

This course is 2 full days of intense training, teaching and practice. The course will cover the following:

• Fundamentals of Defensive Shooting & Intuitive Skill Development
• Defensive Accuracy
• Lateral Motion
• The Balance of Speed & Precision
• The Critical Incident Reload
• Volume of Fire
• Realistic Training for Multiple Target Engagement
• Understanding the Body’s Natural Reactions during a Dynamic Critical Incident
• Safe Rooms and Firearm Staging
• Proper Mindset for Medical Emergencies
• BATH Assessment (bleeding, airway, tension pneumothorax or open chest wound, and hypothermia)
• Basic Airway Management
• Treatment of a Sucking Chest Wound
• Application Of Hemostatic Agents and Bandages
• Application of Tourniquets
• Treatment of Hypovolemic (hemorrhagic) Shock
• 911 and Police Protocols
• Real Life Scenarios such as Imminent Home Invasion, Protecting Others in Public Spaces, and more
• and other topics as time allows

What to Bring:

• Weather appropriate clothing that you would wear on any given day that you would be carrying your defensive handgun.
• Strong side hip or appendix holster that you use to carry your defensive handgun (NOTE: quality kydex, or a similar type where the top of the holster remains open is a requirement)
• Defensive Semi Automatic Pistol (no competition or race guns)
• Backup gun (optional)
• 3 double stack or 5 single stack magazines - this is a requirement
• 600 rounds ammunition
• Eye and ear protection - Electronic Ear Protection STRONGLY recommended
• Gear that can withstand rigorous use. We will be spending a lot of time coming out of, and going back to, the holster.
• Lunch, snacks, and plenty of water

Our Cancellation Policy at Get Trained Be Ready is as follows:

Our policy is that all payments are non-refundable, but if a student is unable to attend and advises us prior to the day of the class that he or she is unable to attend, we will retain the payment on their behalf for a period of one year from the date of the class as a credit towards any class(es) that we teach in an amount equal to their payment.

However, we limit all class sizes. If you want to attend a later class and notify us after that class is already full, then you will have to wait for another class.
