Delve into the rich history as you explore the origins of broomcorn and its evolution into an essential broommaking material. You will gain insight into the various tools and materials integral to the broommaking process, and learn about the unique quality of broomcorn as a broommaking material.
In this hands-on and immersive experience, each participant will craft their own assortment of brooms. This includes creating a cobweb broom, a round Shaker broom, a round hand broom, and even a turkey wing style broom. Depending on time constraints, additional broom projects may be explored.
Guiding you through this inspiring weekend of broommaking is none other than master broommaker Gary Robinson, whose expertise and passion will infuse new life into this ancient craft. Don't miss the chance to be part of this captivating exploration into the world of brooms.
For students who have previously taken broom making, Gary will offer ways to refine and improve your broom making skills!
